Assignment 1 in this module asks you to evaluate some software. I think this form was really meant for software packages, but the course coordinator asks you to use them for some websites. Software is increasingly moving "to the clouds" instead of having to be loaded on your computer, so this seems appropriate.
If the question can't be answered from the website (for example, Producer), just write n/a (not applicable.)
At the top of the page you are asked to give: curriculum standards, learning objectives, NETS, and prequisite skills.
Curriculum standards: What Sunshine State Standards are addressed? Science, language arts, etc. You can find a link to them in the class blog sidebar.
Learning objectives: What should the student be able to do when s/he is finished? This should start with an active verb that is observable. For example: explain, choose, diagram, list, compare, write, etc. Never words like see, learn, understand, or--worse yet--REALLY understand.
NETS refers to the standards for STUDENTS...you can find a link to them on the class blog in the sidebar.
Prerequisite skills refers to what a student would need to be able to do BEFORE they begin the software. For example, if the webpage is teaching them to add a two digit number to a two digit number, they'd need to be able to add a one digit number to a one digit number, etc.
Module 8: Assignment 3
For this assignment, you are to tell a story with pictures and music and/or narration. BE SURE TO MEET THE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS OUTLINED IN THE ASSIGNMENT.
Before you begin your story, read the module pages so you'll understand more about digital storytelling. There are some examples there, too. The module also has links to DOZENS of sites and resources on this topic including planning tools and forms for your storyboard.
The blog contains some free resources on digital storytelling that you can download as well as a link to the University of Houston's excellent site on digital storytelling.
If you have a digital camera (including a camera phone) you can take pictures to use in this assignment. If not, you may use pictures from the web that are COPYRIGHT FREE or licensed under the CREATIVE COMMONS. Your music should also be COPYRIGHT FREE.
